Vision:

As Sub-Dean 1, my vision is simple yet firm: no student should struggle in silence. I am committed to strengthening responsive and inclusive support systems that ensure our students are well-supported, properly heard, and adequately equipped to thrive academically, socially, and personally. My focus is to promote student welfare, guarantee access to essential support structures, and foster safe, dignified living and learning environments where every student can succeed—both within and beyond the classroom.

Roles, Responsibilities & Areas of Oversight:

  • Overseeing students’ non-academic welfare services, including counseling support, health-related assistance, and welfare interventions aimed at promoting students’ general well-being and proper conduct within the University environment.
  • Ensuring proper allocation and management of hostel accommodation, including verification that students are duly assigned spaces they have paid for, while maintaining compliance with hostel policies and a safe, conducive living environment.
  • Coordinating SUG relations and student engagement activities, including clubs, associations, and recognized organizations to promote active participation, leadership development, and structured student interaction within the University community.

Key Innovations:

  • Service Responsiveness System
Implementation of a structured response mechanism within the DSA office that ensures all student complaints and requests are attended to within 24 – 72 hours, thereby strengthening timely intervention, accountability, and efficient service delivery across student support channels.
  • Student Welfare Support & Engagement Mechanism
Introduction of the “No Scholar Left Hungry” feeding programme, designed to support hostel-resident students with meals on a scheduled basis as part of a broader welfare intervention. In addition, strengthening the structured engagement system established to ensure that Departmental and Faculty Staff Advisers maintain meaningful interaction with students, enabling early identification of challenges and prompt, adequate responses to student needs.
